Passive Immunity

Description:

Passive immunity refers to the temporary protection against a particular disease or toxin, obtained from another individual or organism's antibodies. Unlike active immunity, which is achieved through the production of antibodies by an individual's own immune system, passive immunity provides immediate but temporary protection. It can be naturally acquired, such as in a mother passing on antibodies to her unborn child, or artificially through the administration of pre-formed antibodies.
